The Fife Arms house tartan was created by Scottish textile artist Araminta Campbell and is used throughout the hotel – on the walls of The Drawing Room as well as in the bedrooms on curtains, cushions and throws. She used as her inspiration the colours of the hotel and its surrounding landscape – the dark green of the Scots pines, the mossy forest floor, the bright yellow gorse and the iron-oxide red of the hotel's exterior. The 'sett', or pattern, is loosely based on the Duke of Fife's tartan. This stole, made from a sumptuous blend of cashmere and silk, is luxurious yet light – the perfect wrap for a cool night.
